About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain client-facing and internal APIs supporting product and business functionality
Architect and orchestrate data flows across back end services, applications, and third-party systems
Design and manage database schemas and data storage solutions for scalable applications
Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex product features from concept through deployment
Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and contribute to software quality and reliability
Evaluate, integrate, and support third-party services, tools, and platforms
Improve system architecture, performance, observability, security, and reliability
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing across the engineering team
Own complex product features from design through deployment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
6–8 years of experience in back end or full-stack software engineering roles
Working knowledge of Go
Professional experience developing applications and services using Go, Python, Ruby, TypeScript, or C#
Experience designing, developing, debugging, and deploying high-performance client/server systems supporting business-critical applications
Experience with database technologies and messaging systems
Experience evaluating and selecting database and messaging solutions based on business and technical requirements
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and modern CI/CD practices
Knowledge of software security principles, testing methodologies, and engineering best practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ownership of technical outcomes
Ability to mentor and support the growth of other engineers
Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, Postgres, Mongo, Snowflake, Kafka, Python, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS is a bonus
Experience in insurance, banking, or investing is a bonus
