About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise for overhead and underground electrical distribution system projects
Apply client standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to distribution project design and execution
Support project execution by managing assignments, monitoring performance, resolving technical issues, and maintaining client relationships
Develop and oversee engineering design packages using Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and AutoCAD
Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering and design deliverables
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers through training, design reviews, and knowledge sharing
Communicate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, design standards, team performance, and technical capabilities
Maintain productivity and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving work environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline) from an ABET-accredited institution
3-5 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering and design
Experience designing and supporting overhead and underground distribution systems
Knowledge of utility distribution standards, NESC requirements, and utility construction practices
Proficiency with utility design and work management software, including Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, WMS, AutoCAD, or similar platforms
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience preparing, reviewing, and coordinating engineering design packages and construction work orders
Strong communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational, document management, and attention-to-detail skills
Demonstrated ability to perform technical reviews and ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables
