About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of protection and control engineers, engineering technicians, and drafting technicians from project proposal through project as-built stage
  • Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other groups to ensure design concurrence
  • Develop complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including diagrams, schematics, layouts, wiring and connection diagrams, equipment specifications, and bills of material
  • Develop SCADA packages, including input/output lists and Point Data Sheets
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers
  • Develop, nurture, and maintain relationships with senior engineers, managers, executives, and current or prospective clients
  • Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to technical concerns and questions
  • Directly participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data
  • Perform or ensure QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages
  • Delegate, plan, prioritize, and review the work of other engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); Civil Engineering degrees will also be considered
  • An MS Degree in Engineering may be considered in lieu of the BS Engineering degree
  • International Engineering Degrees will be considered
  • Seven or more years of electrical engineering experience desired
  • Experience in protection and control engineering required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or plan to become registered required
  • Professional Engineering registration in the working state is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Bluebeam is a plus
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
