About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a team of protection and control engineers, engineering technicians, and drafting technicians from project proposal through project as-built stage
- Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other groups to ensure design concurrence
- Develop complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including diagrams, schematics, layouts, wiring and connection diagrams, equipment specifications, and bills of material
- Develop SCADA packages, including input/output lists and Point Data Sheets
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers
- Develop, nurture, and maintain relationships with senior engineers, managers, executives, and current or prospective clients
- Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to technical concerns and questions
- Directly participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data
- Perform or ensure QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages
- Delegate, plan, prioritize, and review the work of other engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); Civil Engineering degrees will also be considered
- An MS Degree in Engineering may be considered in lieu of the BS Engineering degree
- International Engineering Degrees will be considered
- Seven or more years of electrical engineering experience desired
- Experience in protection and control engineering required
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or plan to become registered required
- Professional Engineering registration in the working state is a plus
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Bluebeam is a plus
- Strong analytical and computer skills
