About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute commissioning and testing of protection and control schemes and systems for customers’ electric utility substations and plant locations
- Red-line design documents, including Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and Bill of Material/Material List drawings
- Perform End-To-End testing
- Perform IED testing manually and with automated test sets such as Doble 6150, Omicron, and Manta
- Identify risks associated with testing and commissioning protection and control schemes and systems
- Develop test plans and risk assessments
- Analyze scope and drawing interpretations to create functional guidelines and risk assessments
- Lead people and tasks within larger projects and provide technical and people leadership on well-defined projects
- Perform weekly site safety inspections
- Lead the application of HP with Project Lead approval
- Support Company and Customer policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET university or Associate/AET degree
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations
- Experience handling a simple volt-ohm-meter and working with hand tools
- Experience reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary, and Wiring diagrams
- Proficient computer, computer network, and Android/iPhone app skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to map drive letters for server connections
- Ability to obtain, install, and connect handheld device apps to The Cloud or other locations
- Ability to perform regular field work in various work environments, conditions, and weather
- Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules, and procedures
- Ability to speak with poise and confidence using correct English
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing
