About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design overhead transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range
- Prepare construction sketches for overhead network services (4 KV through 34 KV)
- Perform structural analysis and design, perform foundation designs
- Model transmission lines in PLS-CADD
- Determine right of way requirements
- Calculate conductor sags
- Develop transmission line plan and profile drawings
- Review vendor submittals
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited school
- 0-2 years of experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office product applications
- Exposure to PLS-CADD, AutoCAD or similar is a plus but not required
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, having high attention to detail
- Great communication skills
- Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year of hire
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Must possess valid driver's license
