Senior Construction Manager – Substations
QualusConstruction Manager for Program Management department managing electric contractor crews for substation and transmission line projects, ensuring quality and compliance in the Dorchester/Boston area.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Aggressively manages and inspects the day-to-day activities of multiple electric contractor crews
- Facilitates the installation of electric infrastructure and ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Manages work to ensure performance objectives for cycle time and cost are on target
- Oversees and directs contractors performing electric cable installations and electric cut-ins
- Coordinates with customer(s) at the jobsite to determine specific customer requirements and construction sequencing
- Performs weekly safety audits of crews and documents performance
- Coordinates permit and work-with requirements with third party utilities and permit agencies
- Regularly communicates job status to facilitate scheduling commitments
- Conducts job walk-down with customer and contractor at job completion
Requirements
What you’ll need- Thorough knowledge of company work, environmental, and safety practices
- In-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, regulations (OSHA), and safety requirements for electric distribution and substation construction
- Thorough knowledge of PC and job/work management applications including AS8, Atlas, Mobile Maps & MS Office Suite
