About the role

  • Communicating with customers through various channels including telecommunications, social networks etc.
  • Receive inbound calls from customers to interact with them and identify their needs and/or issues
  • Follow set communication guidelines in addressing the needs and problems faced by customers
  • Place outbound calls to current and prospective customers to promote new products and/or services
  • Identify the products and services that best meet customer’s needs
  • Follow up with customer to close sales, answer questions, and explain services
  • Seize opportunities to upsell products when they arise
  • Maintain a courteous and friendly disposition when interacting with customers irrespective of their temperament
  • Meet personal/team qualitative and quantitative targets
  • Build a positive work relationship with customers to enhance the image and public perception of the company
  • Ensure call records are properly stored and organised in a call centre database
  • Oversee the processing and implementation of orders, applications and forms submitted by customers

Requirements

  • CAPE/Associate Degree, with CSEC Maths and English at grade 2+
  • Possesses basic computer skills and software application use
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, flexibility, and dependability in all workplace activities
  • Ability to stay calm and de-escalate situations when customers are stressed or upset
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organisational skills
  • Strong, consistent work ethic with excellent time management
  • Ability to negotiate and persuade with a polite and disciplined approach
  • Previous experience in a “sales driven” call centre environment and customer service
