About the role
- Design and develop electrical systems at the product level, including component selection and system integration
- Support thermal considerations, mechanical packaging, and interconnection design
- Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuits, magnetics, and thermal behavior
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including schematics and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Develop specifications for power protection and distribution systems
- Design control and power circuits for switchboards and related equipment
- Assist with integration of third-party components into larger systems
- Contribute to test procedures, technical reports, and manufacturing documentation
- Provide ongoing engineering support for both new product development and existing systems
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems in lab or production environments
- Support compliance and certification efforts with safety standards organizations (UL, CSA, IEC)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- At least 2 years of experience in electrical design, development, or related work
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) (Preferred)
- Experience with switchboard design (UL 891 or similar standards) (Preferred)
- Familiarity with engineering change processes (ECNs), BOM management, and documentation systems (Preferred)
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar design tools, along with ERP systems (Preferred)
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers) (Preferred)
- Understanding of three-phase power systems and industrial electrical applications (Preferred)
- Knowledge of UL, CSA, and IEC standards, including EMC and safety requirements (Preferred)
- Strong written communication and technical documentation skills (Preferred)
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving ability in lab or field settings (Preferred)
- Exposure to environmental, reliability, and safety requirements in commercial or industrial applications (Preferred)
