About the role
- Perform electrical design at the product level, including component selection, thermal considerations, mechanical packaging support, and interconnection hardware design
- Apply expertise in analog and digital circuits, magnetics, and thermal systems
- Develop technical specifications and engineering documentation for power protection equipment
- Design power and control circuits for switchboards
- Create and maintain design documentation, including schematics and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Assist with the integration of third-party components into power distribution systems
- Support the development of manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports
- Provide ongoing engineering support for both new and existing products
- Troubleshoot systems and subsystems through hands-on analysis
- Assist with product certification processes in coordination with NRTL organizations (UL, CSA, IEC standards)
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design and development
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE)
- Experience designing UL 891 switchboards
- Familiarity with ECNs, BOMs, documentation systems, AutoCAD, and ERP platforms
- Experience using electrical engineering tools such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators
- Knowledge of three-phase power systems and electrical distribution
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Hands-on lab experience with strong troubleshooting abilities
- Familiarity with UL, CSA, and IEC safety and EMC standards for power systems
- Understanding of environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for industrial and commercial applications.
