About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and maintain the enterprise data strategy, including data architecture priorities, governance standards, ownership principles, and business enablement objectives;
  • Establish robust data governance disciplines covering quality, lineage, controls, access, documentation, and lifecycle management;
  • Drive data democratization across functions by developing trusted data products, management reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics capabilities;
  • Ensure that data practices support regulatory compliance, auditability, risk oversight, and decision transparency in a financial services environment;
  • Partner with product, risk, engineering, operations, compliance, and commercial teams to embed data into front-end journeys, back-end processes, underwriting logic, portfolio monitoring, and performance management;
  • Help identify, assess, and integrate new data sources and signals that can improve credit decisioning, fraud controls, customer understanding, and operational efficiency;
  • Enable the responsible application of advanced analytics, machine learning, and agentic automation across relevant business workflows;
  • Build and deliver high-value analytical outputs directly when needed, recognizing that in a small and agile organization, senior leaders are expected to remain hands-on in execution;
  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in a senior data role within fintech, banking, or a data-intensive environment;
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, lending products, or financial services data ecosystems;
  • Deep expertise in data governance, data modeling, and data architecture;
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data sources;
  • Hands-on capability in SQL and at least one analytical or programming language (e.g., Python);
  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows and practical applications in decision systems;
  • Comfortable in a startup environment where ambiguity is high and execution is key;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
