Account Manager, Metalworking Fluids
Quaker HoughtonAccount Manager managing key clients and driving business development for Quaker Houghton in the Southwest region. Focusing on customer satisfaction and cross-selling opportunities.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop business with key customers in the assigned region to achieve sales and margin targets
- Identify new business opportunities and closely coordinate with commercial and technical teams to develop customer-specific solutions that exceed expectations
- Build and maintain sustainable relationships with relevant contacts at all levels — with both existing and prospective customers
- Prepare customer presentations, quotations, commercial offers and value-selling concepts that demonstrate Quaker Houghton’s added value
- Provide technically sound customer advice in close cooperation with the Product Application team to introduce new solutions
- Closely align with Key Account Management to implement the account strategy and maximize business potential
- Work with Customer Service and Technical Service to ensure high customer satisfaction
- Regular reporting to management including analysis of sales targets, budgets and forecasts (CRM, Excel and other IT tools)
- Attend technical conferences and industry events
- Monitor competitor activities, industry trends and regional regulations and relay relevant market information to management and the KAM team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience in industrial fluids or the metalworking industry (e.g., lubricants, greases, metalworking fluids, forging, die casting or comparable products)
- Ideal role for a dedicated, technically oriented sales professional with a long-term career focus
- Education/degree: Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry or a comparable engineering degree preferred
- Fluent German and English skills
- Dynamic personality with excellent communication and presentation skills and strong relationship-building abilities
- Field-based role in Southwest Germany
