About the role

  • Work autonomously and build the electronics function at Quad Lock from the ground up.
  • Scope, review and consolidate electronics architecture across the entire Quad Lock product range.
  • Design and develop electrical and electronic systems, circuits, and components.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, analyse requirements, and create detailed technical specifications for projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and electronic systems into larger product designs.
  • Manage firmware specification, requirements and development with suppliers.
  • Perform simulations, calculations, and modelling to optimise system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Conduct testing, verification, and validation activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug electrical and electronic systems, identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including design records, technical reports, and user manuals.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate and select appropriate components and materials.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing electrical and electronic systems, preferably in a Consumer product domain (Wireless Charging expertise would be an advantage).
  • Strong understanding of Firmware and Hardware Interactions.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) software and simulation tools for circuit design and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic components, systems, their integration and supply chains.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, such as NEC, IEC, IEEE, Qi2 (desirable).
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems.
  • Proficient in using lab equipment, measurement tools, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyse complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
