About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage design, preconstruction, and construction activities for assigned projects
  • Manage multiple campus projects and maintain budgets, schedules, and status reports
  • Create and communicate monthly development program and project updates for executive-level reviews
  • Present information to support efficient decision-making
  • Develop master development programs, campus design solutions, and capital budgets
  • Manage entitlement and permitting requirements
  • Implement and manage multi-phased site development plans
  • Maintain and update campus master plans
  • Write scopes of work for design, construction, and commissioning services
  • Participate in procurement and project cost estimates
  • Evaluate and level pricing proposals
  • Coordinate equipment procurement and delivery with strategic procurement
  • Coordinate submittals with site stakeholders
  • Monitor project budgets and cost-to-date
  • Establish project schedules and manage teams to on-time completion
  • Review and approve contractor monthly pay applications
  • Review change order requests and negotiate pricing
  • Establish site construction security procedures
  • Develop and communicate product deployment plans
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Product teams on custom deal solutions
  • Liaise with key QTS stakeholders and represent QTS in OAC meetings
  • Build relationships supporting QTS’s data center real estate leadership
  • Support due diligence for potential new sites
  • Enhance internal project management processes and protocols

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • Five or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
  • Experience managing Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods from conceptual development through procurement to close out
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • US Citizenship required by law due to federal customer contracts
  • MBA, Master’s in Engineering, Management, or related field desirable
  • Experience delivering mission critical data center facilities preferred
  • Extensive experience managing MEP trades preferred
