About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead multiple facilities regions and provide platform-wide facilities leadership, strategic vision, tactical execution, and business acumen
- Coordinate and integrate corporate real estate management, financial analysis, master planning, new construction, and direct facilities management
- Oversee infrastructure maintenance, data center operations, and business continuity/disaster recovery procedures for assigned properties
- Manage multi-million-dollar annual capital and expense budgets
- Establish and implement facilities policies, procedures, and organizational structures
- Develop and monitor short-term and long-range business plans and operational standards
- Supervise preparation and implementation of operating budgets for data centers
- Ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements
- Direct delivery of space planning, power and cooling services, headcount planning, capital projects, maintenance, janitorial services, landscaping, and continuity/disaster recovery support
- Provide matrixed leadership with regional leaders and other business owners
- Negotiate improvement project contracts for leased and owned real estate
- Resolve operational problems, authorize procedures, and approve major estimates
- Maintain relationships and communication with staff and executive management
- Monitor operational effectiveness using facility comparisons, KPIs, ITIL, IFMA benchmarks, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with governmental operating guidelines and maintain required licenses, permits, and certifications
- Participate in community activities and professional associations
- Drive environmentally conscious innovation and sustainability programs
- Participate in acquisition teams to assess potential facilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, related area, or equivalent professional experience
- Fifteen or more years’ experience in facilities management, data center management, corporate/military engineering, or related field
- Five or more years’ people management experience; virtual team management preferred
- Strong knowledge of related regulations and laws
- General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, maintenance, environmental, and safety codes, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, ADA, and NFPA
- Working knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and project management
- Experience with P&L responsibility, budgeting, and financial model development
- U.S. citizenship required by law due to federal customer contracts
- Proven leadership, management, interpersonal, negotiation, organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Strategic agility, sound judgment, decision-making, planning, influence, customer service, relationship-building, problem-solving, oral and written communication, work ethic, and integrity
- Master’s degree or 20+ years of related work experience and/or training preferred
