Translate system requirements into robust embedded system architectures
Select appropriate components (MCUs/SoCs, ADCs/DACs, clocks, power supplies, memory) and define interfaces
Design and integrate interfaces for digital and analog peripherals
Develop high-throughput digital signal processing blocks for real-time data acquisition
Implement embedded software (C/C++ on bare-metal and/or RTOS)
Collaborate closely with FPGA, hardware, and optical engineering teams
Produce documentation: requirements, interface control documents, design specifications, and verification plans
Establish and maintain quality practices: code reviews, static analysis, unit and integration testing, and CI for firmware
Contribute to system security, reliability, EMC/EMI, and Design-for-X (DfX) considerations

Requirements

Proven track record designing embedded architectures from requirements through production
Familiarity with MCU/SoC/SoM platforms, RTOS concepts, memory and clocking architectures, and low-level drivers
Strong understanding of common buses/protocols and analog fundamentals
Proficiency in C and C++; experience with scripting (Python) for testing and automation
Experience integrating with FPGAs and reading hardware schematics and PCB layouts
Excellent cross-functional communication and documentation skills; ability to lead design reviews and mentor colleagues
Nice to have: embedded cybersecurity knowledge (secure boot, key management, system hardening)
Nice to have: space-industry experience (radiation and thermal considerations, ECSS/NASA or DO- standards, environmental testing)
