About the role
- Define and implement a tailored Product Assurance (PA) strategy for space technology maturation programs, ensuring compliance with ECSS standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Derive, tailor, and manage PA, MMPP, and EEE requirements, ensuring traceability to system objectives and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead PA activities across the product lifecycle from concept design through early testing, including definition of quality gates and key milestones, and participation in validation and verification activities.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and non-conformance reviews to ensure quality risks are identified early and properly mitigated.
- Conduct audits, inspections, troubleshooting, and assessments to ensure both internal and external quality requirements are met.
- Support the definition and implementation of quality assurance processes for hardware components (EEE, MMPP), including procurement, assembly, inspection, and verification.
- Prepare and maintain PA documentation: PA plans, compliance matrices, verification plans, procedures and processes, NCRs, risk registers, and lessons learned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrialization/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in product and/or quality assurance, preferably in the space or aerospace sector.
- Strong knowledge of ECSS and other aerospace product assurance standards.
- Familiarity with quality management standards such as ISO 9001 or EN 9100 is a plus.
- Technical background in one or more PA disciplines — RAMS, MMPP, EEE, or software.
- Experience with processes and requirements management and in handling quality aspects of technology demonstrator programs.
- Experience conducting audits or qualifying suppliers in the space or high-availability industries.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to interact with customers, suppliers, space agencies, and internal teams.
- Confident and able to take responsibility and work autonomously.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
