About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in setting up the tax strategy — identify and implement tax optimization opportunities, ensure the correct tax treatment is applied across the group, and ensure the organizational structure remains aligned with the tax strategy.
  • Assist Finance & Accounting teams with tax computation and tax accounting — supervise calculations, review filings, ensure timely submissions, and liaise with external advisors.
  • Coordinate tax compliance across Europe — partner with the accounting team and local tax compliance advisors.
  • Own product tax analysis — define applicable tax treatments and reporting obligations for Qonto’s new products in France and abroad, and develop the client-facing tax information that accompanies them.
  • Manage transfer pricing requirements, documentation, reporting and computations across the group.
  • Act as the bridge between tax and the rest of the company — collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Product, and Legal teams; represent Qonto with tax authorities; and manage relationships with external advisors.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience: 6–8 years in tax, ideally at a Big Four firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) or within a financial institution.

  • Domain knowledge: Exposure to tax frameworks for credit institutions. Comfortable interacting with tax authorities in France (and via partners abroad).
  • Communication: Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and strong pedagogical skills — able to make tax actionable for non-specialists.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and French.
  • Qualifications: Advanced degree in taxation and/or finance (Master’s in Tax Law, DJCE, business school degree, DSCG, or equivalent).
