About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code for high-scale content platforms and data-intensive applications
Build and deploy production-grade AI features, including RAG pipelines, LLM orchestrations, and agentic workflows using Vertex AI
Design and configure scalable backend architectures on Google Cloud Platform using Cloud Run, GKE, and Cloud Functions
Author Technical Design Documents translating business needs into executable backend blueprints
Manage the full code lifecycle from local development through production using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with US-based product owners, European delivery teams, and global engineering teams
Participate in early-morning synchronization meetings
Ensure API design, security, automated testing, reliability, performance, and observability for enterprise deployments
Help build Beyond's Buenos Aires delivery centre and contribute to its collaborative culture

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of professional experience in backend development, focused on distributed systems
Mastery of Python and experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django
Experience with asynchronous programming
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including App Engine, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL
Proven experience integrating LLMs into applications
Understanding of vector databases, such as Vertex Vector Search or Pinecone
Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
Fluent English skills and ability to discuss technical trade-offs clearly
Experience building and scaling backend systems for complex AI-driven applications
Nice to have: experience with LangChain or LlamaIndex
Nice to have: understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes
Nice to have: experience with headless CMS architectures or Digital Experience Platforms
Nice to have: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer certification
