About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own delivery of assigned projects, including scope control, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across multiple concurrent engagements
- Evaluate technical resources, provide structured feedback, and make resourcing recommendations to leadership
- Collaborate with technical teams to validate engineering estimates, identify delivery risks, and ensure realistic timelines
- Define and clarify ambiguous or evolving scope in mid-to-late project phases
- Lead integrations with external vendors, including core banking providers, market data vendors, payment gateways, and cloud providers
- Represent client interests in vendor negotiations covering pricing, SLAs, timelines, and funding programs such as AWS support
- Manage subcontractor selection, onboarding, performance monitoring, and invoices
- Run client governance meetings covering status, escalations, acceptance criteria, and UAT at CTO/PMO level
- Produce and maintain project artefacts, including plans, RAID logs, integration specifications, and cutover plans
- Ensure compliance with client security and regulatory requirements relevant to banking and securities
- Control scope changes and raise risks early to maintain delivery quality and project sustainability
- In the first six months, stabilize at least one large integration project, drive documented vendor negotiation outcomes, keep missed-requirement scope creep below 5%, maintain target CSAT, and sustain clear scope control
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in IT project management
- Experience delivering at least two software projects for banks or securities firms
- Working knowledge of financial products or operations, including lending, payments, trading, or securities
- Experience working with software development teams and participating in estimation or roadmap discussions
- Sufficient technical understanding to follow engineering discussions, identify risks, and assess timeline realism
- Experience managing multi-vendor integrations and vendor discussions on scope, SLAs, timelines, or commercial matters
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work independently with bank CTOs and PMOs
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches
- Experience managing subcontractors or remote teams
- Business-level English
- Strong awareness of information security, customer data protection, and banking/securities compliance requirements
- Ability to identify project-level information security risks involving multiple vendors, integrated systems, and sensitive data
- Adherence to and promotion of processes for information classification, incident reporting, and project document control
- Nice to have: PMP, Prince2, or Certified Scrum Master certification; securities trading operations, FIX protocol, or core banking platform experience; AWS commercial programs and cloud migration experience; AI or automation development team experience
