About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess and manage eligibility and liability decisions for high ‑ volume, high ‑ turnover claims within the Nominal Insurer scheme.
  • Apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and frameworks to support accurate, timely, and compliant decision ‑ making in line with legislative reform requirements.
  • Manage work across competing priorities without a traditional portfolio, responding efficiently to changing workloads and time ‑ critical tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with injured workers, employers, legal representatives, and internal stakeholders regarding eligibility outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in line with regulatory, contractual, and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to a newly formed team environment, supporting continuous improvement and helping embed new ways of working as reforms are implemented.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience in workers’ compensation, CTP, legal, or disputes ‑ based claims environments, with exposure to eligibility, liability, or decision ‑ driven claim work.
  • A strong understanding of legislative and statutory frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply them confidently in a changing environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in a high ‑ volume setting.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex decisions in a fair and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated resilience, sound judgement, and attention to detail when managing sensitive or time ‑ critical matters.
  • A collaborative, adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a newly formed team navigating change.
