About the role
- Assist with preparation and filing of SEC reports including 10-Q/Ks, 8-Ks, financial audit support preparation
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial presentations for senior leadership, audit committee and other external parties including supporting Investor Relations and the quarterly earnings release process
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including the statement of cash flows
- Prepare memos and documentation analyzing the application of GAAP to non-routine transactions
- Identify and implement process improvements to simplify financial reporting processes
- Research and monitor new GAAP pronouncements and analyze their impact to Q2 to ensure compliance with new accounting guidance
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and related disclosures to account for various cash transactions including fixed income investments and debt
- Monitor cash and investment portfolio and perform related treasury modeling and cash flow forecasting
- Prepare quarterly debt compliance calculations and certifications
- Participate in special projects by providing technical accounting research and subject matter expertise. Projects may include business combinations, impairment reviews, ASC 606 expertise, and accounting systems implementations
- Execute and monitor internal controls around financial reporting functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience, Masters preferred
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of related industry experience, preferably including Public Accounting experience
- CPA preferred or working towards obtaining certification
- Thorough knowledge and application of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel knowledge (financial modeling experience)
- SEC reporting experience a must
- Software/Software as a Service industry accounting experience a plus
- NetSuite, Oracle NSPB, Workiva and Auditboard experience a plus
- Ability to operate independently with minimal upfront instruction and take ownership of work product; driven, diligent, and self-motivated
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service focus
- Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial and employee data
- This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
