About the role
- Advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs and act as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners
- Advise on pricing implications of goods and services between related parties and provide advice on tax implications of deals
- Help Financial Services clients navigate the changing national and international tax environment related to capital requirements, operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions
- Help clients with tax structuring and address continuously changing tax issues locally and globally
- Work as part of a team of problem solvers; develop skills, coach others, resolve issues, and encourage personal development
- Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build meaningful recommendations using multiple sources of information and stakeholder views
- Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making; simplify complex messages
- Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes
- Execute corporate planning and compliance, tax accounting and financial reporting, including tax provision preparation and audit/review
- Innovate through digitization and automation, equip professionals to deliver technology-enabled tax advisory services
- Participate in client discussions and meetings; communicate Firm services and manage engagements, including preparing concise documents and balancing project economics
- Lead and monitor team workloads, provide feedback, and mentor team members
- Serve FinTech clients on lending, digital banking, payments, crypto and blockchain, insurance and real estate technologies
Requirements
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 4 year(s)
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify
- Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in dealing with tax issues facing multinational US companies or publicly traded entities, especially in the areas of tax consulting and tax reporting and compliance
- Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a tax technical professional, researching business and industry trends to develop a point of view to leverage in assisting with proposals
- Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success with automation & digitization in a professional services environment
- Experience working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools
- Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in pricing, client value and the negotiation process, including reviewing contracts
- Experience executing corporate planning and compliance, tax accounting and financial reporting, including tax provision preparation, audit and review with the ability to utilize ASC 740 techniques
- Technical skills with tax tools and resources including tax provision and compliance software such as Corptax, OneSource, or other similar platforms
- Using research methods including but not limited to Westlaw, RIA and CCH
- Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader, including participating in client discussions, communicating Firm services, managing engagements, preparing concise, accurate documents, and balancing project economics
- Ability to create a positive environment by monitoring workloads, providing candid meaningful feedback, and keeping leadership informed of progress and issues
