About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care for children and adults
- Serve as Medical Director providing clinical leadership, consultation, and oversight to the Behavioral Health team
- Deliver both in-person and telehealth psychiatric services based on patient and program needs
- Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians and leadership to improve quality, clinical outcomes, and patient care
- Participate in behavior treatment committees, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance activities
- Assist with psychiatric staff development, peer review, and clinical education
- Flexible 1099 schedule averaging 20-30 hours per week based on caseload
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD or DO REQUIRED
- Board Certified Psychiatrist REQUIRED
- Active Michigan Medical License REQUIRED
- Minimum Five Years of Psychiatric Experience REQUIRED
- Experience Treating Children and Adults REQUIRED
- Experience Treating Substance Use Disorders REQUIRED
- Ability to Provide In-Person and Telehealth Services REQUIRED
- Knowledge of the Wayne County Behavioral Health Population REQUIRED
- Comfortable Working with Diverse Patient Populations REQUIRED
- Reliable Transportation REQUIRED
- Board Certification in Child Psychiatry Preferred
- Substance Abuse Certification Preferred
- Experience with Detroit/Wayne County Community Mental Health Preferred
