About the role
- Definition and execution of the solutions roadmap through strategic collaboration on solution direction, design, development, validation, documentation and evangelism of Solutions with Pure’s block, file, snapshot and data protection workflows
- Develop technical documentation, including reference architectures, best practices, white papers, and solution briefs
- Showcase Infrastructure solutions with Pure’s technologies in lab environments for use in field and partner enablement, customer POCs and Demos
- Present solutions to customers, partners, and internal teams, translating technical details into business value and actionable insights
- Partner with engineering, product management, field architects, professional services and marketing teams to drive market growth, thought leadership and roadmap alignment
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and refine messaging, presentations, and technical content
- Plan, outline, and publish professional technical documents on schedule and own the document lifecycle of Infrastructure solutions at Pure
- Collaborate with field teams to understand Enterprise customer challenges and deliver practical, impactful solutions
- Work collaboratively within a team and cross-functionally to achieve common goals and drive innovation
- Communicate in a clear and concise professional manner, tailored to the appropriate audience
- Manage multiple priorities and tasks within a dynamic work environment
Requirements
- Systems Administration and Engineering in the real world - with high level certifications such as VCP, VCAP, VCDX and Cisco UCS
- Infrastructure and Platform Expertise: In-depth, holistic knowledge of VMWare, Server Operating Systems, Networking, Storage Protocols, Filesystems, Scripting languages, Orchestration and Observability tools like Ansible, Terraform and Grafana
- Storage Proficiency: An understanding of block, file, and object storage protocols (e.g., FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, S3)
- Platform Knowledge: Expertise in hybrid cloud platforms, including public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), and hybrid cloud virtualization technologies (Nutanix, OpenShift & Kubernetes is a huge PLUS)
- Solution Architecture: Real world experience in datacenter infrastructure, preferably on both Vendor and Customer environments
- Technical Marketing Skills: Ability to communicate value in collaboration with marketing teams
- Performance Optimization: In Depth knowledge of the I/O protocols, pathways and tuning practices
- Understanding and commanding perspective of emerging trends in the datacenter
- Understanding of large scale Data Analytics environments
- Systems Engineering Knowledge: Proficiency in Linux, Bash/Python scripting, IP networking, Ansible, Terraform, observability & management tools used by Sys Admins
- Diagnostic Skills: Strong troubleshooting capabilities for performance issues
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience is helpful
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the design, deployment and management of enterprise datacenter systems
- Proven ability to execute on strategies and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with organizational goals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated adaptability to learn new technologies and respond to evolving organizational needs
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision
- Will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless on PTO or travel
