About the role

  • Greet patients and assist them in transitioning from the waiting room to their physical therapy appointment.
  • Ensure the patient is comfortably prepared to begin the session as directed by the PT.
  • Ensure a clean environment for patient care at all times and assist other therapists throughout the building.
  • Plan and prioritize a variety of therapy support functions to assist physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, massage therapy and on occasion acupuncture or genetic counseling staff.
  • Support staff therapists as well as office staff throughout the day in the united goal of excellent patient care at all times.
  • Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize patient equipment including hydrocollators, splint baths and paraffin baths, among other materials in accordance with industry guidelines.
  • Participate positively as a member of the healthcare team in support of the patient’s experience at Summit Therapy.
  • Monitor the patient schedule throughout the day and assist patients in the transition from the waiting room to the therapy session in a timely manner.
  • Occasionally assist front desk staff with checking patients in for their appointment.
  • Maintain logbooks with necessary information pertaining to cleaning, pool maintenance, and more, in order to comply with the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed and participate as an integral part of the Summit Therapy team.
  • Maintain accountability to a structured schedule throughout the day and respond to staff needs as these arise whenever able.
  • Create a safe work environment by identifying safety concerns and actively seeking to resolve these issues by communicating this with the supervisor or others involved.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education equivalent required in order to read and interpret written treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to manage time, tasks, and resources appropriately.
  • Basic computer skills.
