About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write and lead the development of proposals (primarily $10K and above), letters of intent, RFPs, and reports that reflect PRP’s impact across issue areas, shaping content into a cohesive, persuasive narrative using inputs from multiple teams;
  • Partner with the Director of Institutional Giving to gather information across the organization and build consistent, repeatable approaches to reporting out programmatic updates, metrics, and impact;
  • Partner with Senior Manager, Development Operations to track and manage grant deliverables in Asana, ensuring each proposal and report moves forward on time and with the right inputs;
  • Manage a portfolio of writing assignments and grants projects at different stages (i.e. - programmatic scope, early drafts, revisions, final submissions), balancing multiple deadlines at once and adjusting for high-volume periods, budget planning, and campaign needs;
  • Coordinate with finance and Salesforce teams on collecting and organizing financial reporting and metrics integral to the grantwriter’s deliverables.
  • Work closely with program, legal, and communications team members to stay current on PRP’s work and translate ongoing activities into funder-facing materials;
  • Translate complex or evolving work into clear, funder-facing materials that support PRP’s broader fundraising strategy and messaging;
  • Contribute to goal setting and grants management strategies for the Development department;
  • Incorporate prospect research, organizational metrics, and branded communications assets into grant writing deliverables;
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflows for grant writing and reporting, including how information is shared, tracked, and reused;
  • Support team effectiveness by sharing feedback, contributing to internal discussions, and helping strengthen how the team approaches grant writing.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of professional experience in writing-heavy roles where written communication and outputs are a core responsibility;
  • Experience with grant writing, fundraising, or development work is helpful but not required;
  • Success producing structured and compelling written work such as reports, proposals, advocacy, educational, or policy content;
  • Experience managing multiple projects or deliverables at once, often with overlapping deadlines;
  • Experience working across teams to gather input and develop written materials;
  • Background in advocacy, policy, legal, communications, or other mission-driven work, or related fields;
  • Experience translating complex or technical topics into accessible, audience-facing content;
  • Familiarity with project tracking tools (i.e. - Asana or similar) to manage workflows.
