About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assess the learning strengths and areas of development and interests of the student
Develop goals and outcomes with student input and assessment results
Instruct students on employability skills such as communication, technology, problem solving/critical thinking, teamwork, personal appearance, financial management, professionalism, self-determination, self-advocacy, resume writing, interview skills, and job search
Assist students in developing a portfolio
Monitor and record daily attendance
Provide information about disability awareness and supervision for individuals with disabilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must provide direct instruction to students in communication, life skills, and pre-employment skills
Responsible for identifying and increasing a student’s strengths, interests, and abilities related to employment skills acquisition and job development
Performance responsibilities include assessing learning strengths and areas of development and interests of the student
Developing goals and outcomes with student input and assessment results
Instructing students on employability skills such as communication, technology, problem solving/critical thinking, teamwork, personal appearance, financial management, professionalism, self-determination, self-advocacy, resume writing, interview skills, and job search
Assisting students in developing a portfolio to include certificates of skills attained, letters of recommendation from internships, etc.
Monitoring and recording daily attendance in class and at the work experience site
Teaching students to inform instructor or supervisors of absences/tardiness
Providing employers with information about disability awareness and supervising individuals with disabilities
Maintaining accurate and complete files for each student
