About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide professional and customer-focused HR support to managers and employees
- Help deliver people initiatives and ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters
- Support disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, and absence management processes
- Manage recruitment and onboarding activities to deliver a positive candidate and employee experience
- Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR documentation
- Support performance management, learning and development, and wellbeing initiatives
- Produce HR reports and people metrics to support decision-making
- Contribute to HR projects, employee engagement activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer, or similar generalist HR position
- Strong understanding of employee relations and UK employment law
- Experience supporting managers on a broad range of HR matters.
- Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification (or working towards one).
- Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment, exposure to trade unions, and knowledge of HR analytics would be advantageous.
