About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide professional and customer-focused HR support to managers and employees
  • Help deliver people initiatives and ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters
  • Support disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, and absence management processes
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding activities to deliver a positive candidate and employee experience
  • Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR documentation
  • Support performance management, learning and development, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Produce HR reports and people metrics to support decision-making
  • Contribute to HR projects, employee engagement activities, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer, or similar generalist HR position
  • Strong understanding of employee relations and UK employment law
  • Experience supporting managers on a broad range of HR matters.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification (or working towards one).
  • Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment, exposure to trade unions, and knowledge of HR analytics would be advantageous.
