About the role

  • Oversee all HR functions across PRPL and PRPL & Friends, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal-setting, reviews, feedback, and development planning.
  • Manage compensation structure and pay equity, conducting benchmarking and salary reviews.
  • Guide worker classification (W2 vs. 1099) and ensure proper onboarding and documentation for all talent placements.
  • Support visa-related processes and ensure legal compliance for international or contract talent as needed.
  • Partner closely with leadership to build HR policies and processes that support a hybrid staffing and agency model.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, offering guidance on employee relations, professional growth, and performance improvement.
  • Maintain a clear, approachable communication style that upholds HR best practices while fostering trust and transparency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on HR management experience within a staffing, creative, or consulting environment
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Strong understanding of U.S. labor laws, worker classification, compensation strategy, and performance management
  • Experience managing HR for contingent/contract workers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to communicate HR principles clearly and empathetically
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with discretion, sound judgment, and integrity
  • Warm, approachable demeanor with the ability to set and uphold clear boundaries and policies
