About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist with the inspection of airfield to comply with Federal Aviation Regulations including 12 CFR Part 139
Closely monitor all airfield areas
Ensure safe and smooth flow of aircraft
Complete all required paperwork, communication and training to maintain FAA airport certifications
Respond to inquiries, requests, and complaints
Ensure TSR 1542 compliance
Strictly maintain authorized airfield access via ID/media monitoring
Monitor, inspect, and routinely patrol all airport areas for safety concerns, operation and security issues, and compliance with federal, state and local law, rules, and regulations
Ensure all airport electrical systems/equipment, radio equipment, landing direction indicators, air traffic control tower, access gates, parking toll booths, baggage belts, ticket counters, boarding gates, and all other airport-owned equipment is fully operational 24/7
Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
1 Year of progressively responsible maintenance and heavy equipment experience
Department of Homeland Security background check
A valid, lawful Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Airport Security Coordinator certificate and Airport Inspector and Airport Wildlife Hazard Management on-the-job training completion required within one month of hire
Must obtain and hold an Airport SIDA Badge
2 years of related experience at a Part 139 certificated airport OR a Bachelor’s degree in aviation-related field plus 1 year of experience at a Part 139 certificated airport (for Airport Operations Specialist II)
FAA-accredited Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) certification during employment (for Airport Operations Specialist II)
Must obtain 1 or more of ASOS, ACE, or CM ratings from American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) (for Airport Operations Specialist II)
4 years of related experience at a Part 139 certificated airport (for Airport Operations Specialist III)
Must obtain CM rating and 1 ACE rating: Airfield Lighting, Airfield Operations, or Airport Security from American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) (for Airport Operations Specialist III)
Must complete 1 of the following: CPR & AED, EMR, or EMT (for Airport Operations Specialist III)
