Wastewater Collections Laborer – PT
Provo CityWastewater Collections Laborer operating equipment to clear sewer lines for Provo City. Position involves maintaining service quality for the municipal sewer system with community-focused responsibilities.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate power rodding equipment of various sizes to clear lines.
- Operate television viewing and sealing equipment to detect sewer line leaks and obstructions.
- Seal leaks with packaging unit.
- Operate jet cleaning unit to clean lines, ditches and culverts.
- Locate access points with metal detectors and inspection of maps.
- Raise manholes to grade.
- Clean homes or other buildings following sewer backups.
- Keep equipment and shop area clean.
- Assemble safety pipes.
- Cut roots, grease, and other obstructing materials.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair of electrical parts on TV truck.
- Assist other departments needing jet machine.
- Perform field sampling.
- Assist other crew members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Any training and/or experience that would demonstrate an ability to successfully perform the duties of the job
- Valid, lawful driver license
- Preference given to candidates with a commercial driver's license
