Architect and implement enterprise-level Salesforce solutions leveraging Education Cloud and other Salesforce products.
Design and maintain the Salesforce data model (EDA or custom) to support student lifecycle, advancement, and engagement strategies.
Lead the integration of Salesforce with campus systems (SIS, LMS, IAM, ERP).
Collaborate with functional teams (Admissions, Advancement, Advising, IT, etc.) to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Ensure platform governance, security, and data privacy compliance (FERPA, GDPR, etc.).
Provide leadership in Salesforce best practices, DevOps, CI/CD, and code quality.
Stay abreast of Salesforce product releases and propose adoption of new features.
Lead platform lifecycle planning, including sandbox management, testing strategies, and release management.
Define and enforce technical standards, documentation, and architectural blueprints.
Mentor junior admins and developers and serve as a thought leader in Salesforce architecture.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
7+ years of experience in Salesforce architecture, including 3+ years in a Higher Education setting.
Deep knowledge of Salesforce Education Cloud and EDA (Education Data Architecture).
Knowledge of core Salesforce products: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud.
Experience with Salesforce integrations (Mulesoft, REST/SOAP APIs, middleware).
Strong understanding of Salesforce licensing models and platform capabilities.
Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and SOQL.
Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools (Copado, Gearset, AutoRABIT, etc.).
Salesforce Architect certifications (Application & System Architect, CTA preferred).
Preferred: Experience with third-party higher ed products: TargetX, UC Innovation, FormAssembly, Blackthorn, Affinaquest.
Preferred: Familiarity with campus systems (Banner, Workday, PeopleSoft, Canvas).
Experience leading Salesforce implementations or migrations in higher ed institutions.
Strong understanding of higher education processes: admissions, financial aid, student success, and alumni relations.
