About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Verify insurance and patient eligibility
- Assess financial requirements for recommended treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, office visits, integrated supportive care services, and other cancer-related therapies or services
- Counsel patients on insurance benefits, co-payments, and out-of-pocket expenses
- Obtain required preauthorization for procedures, treatments, and admissions
- Obtain grants and drug assistance programs to support patients’ financial needs and access to care
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in Accounting, business administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- 2 years of prior experience in a healthcare setting involving billing, financial counseling, or financial advocacy
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, business administration, or related field preferred
