About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Using established protocols, monitor, research and update patient accounts to reconcile and maximize reimbursement.
- Answers patient, insurance calls and correspondence resolving questions in a time frame that meets or exceeds department standards.
- Acts as liaison between Patient Accounts and physician offices, insurance carriers and other third-party payers to assist with questions and resolve unpaid accounts.
- Follow guidelines to adjust accounts based upon the patient/account status (deceased patient, small balance, charity, etc.).
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1 year of functional experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
- Associate's Degree in a business-related field (preferred)
- Upon hire: CRCR Certification (preferred)
- 1 year of experience in either physician/hospital billing or other healthcare business setting (preferred)
- 3 months of successful customer service experience with patients and insurers (preferred)
- 1 year of Collection experience (preferred)
- 1 year of experience using EPIC, pay span and insurance portals (preferred)
