About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide professional legal support to the Department of Legal Affairs ("DLA") attorneys generally and/or in a specific practice area or across practice areas.
  • Responsible for the coordination, provision, and completion of various legal support tasks as requested by a supervising attorney or senior paralegal in support of Providence St. Joseph Health's various operations.
  • Maintain corporate information in Providence’s entity management database.
  • Assist with corporate filings and annual report filings.
  • Provide support in corporate transactions and related matters.
  • Draft and prepare a wide range of legal documents.
  • Assist with healthcare operations and matters.
  • Communicate directly and through correspondence with high level internal and external customers.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree - ABA-approved Paralegal Studies Program or Certificate from a paralegal program at, or a degree from, an accredited secondary institution which requires at least 24 semester units in law-related courses.
  • 2 years - Paralegal experience in a relevant practice area with an in-house legal team, or equivalent experience in a law practice setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree- Paralegal Studies / Law / Legal Studies (Preferred)
  • Coursework/Training - eDiscovery / Contract Management / Project Management (Preferred)
  • Notary Public Designation/License upon hire (Preferred)
  • 2 years - Demonstrated experience performing substantive legal work for multiple attorneys in a relevant practice area (Preferred)
  • 2 years - General understanding/exposure to the health care industry working with large integrated health systems (Preferred).
