About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide professional legal support to the Department of Legal Affairs ("DLA") litigation attorneys.
Monitor and manage all aspects of investigations and litigation, in partnership with attorneys.
Exercise independent judgment in determining and recommending courses of action based on matter type.
Lead or participate in document review as necessary to support various legal matters.
Independently utilize various platforms and document management systems used by DLA.
Request needed documentation and information from business partners to ensure that the attorneys have all necessary information/material to complete their work/analysis/review.
Require a high-level of communication intelligence and frequent interaction with DLA, business partners, outside counsel, third party vendors, and business associates.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate's Degree ABA-approved Paralegal Studies Program Or Certificate from a paralegal program at, or a degree from, an accredited secondary institution which requires at least 24 semester units in law-related courses.
5 years Paralegal experience in a relevant practice area with an in-house legal team, or equivalent experience in a law practice setting.
5 years Demonstrated experience performing substantive legal work for multiple attorneys in a relevant practice area.
