About the role
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of employment law policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Advise senior management and HR teams on complex employment law matters.
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of employment contracts and consultancy agreements.
- Monitor and interpret legislative developments in employment law.
- Manage the resolution of employment disputes and contractual issues.
- Represent the organisation in legal proceedings and negotiations.
- Provide strategic input into organisational change projects.
Requirements
- 10+ years qualified attorney with significant post-qualification experience in employment and contract law.
- Law firm experience preferred.
- Proven track record in a senior legal role, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
- Knowledge of US employment legislation, case law, and regulatory requirements, with awareness of specific employment legislation as needed.
- Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of employment and commercial contracts.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in collaborating with external counsel.
- Demonstrable ability to provide pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice.
