About the role
- Strategic DevOps leader who combines deep technical expertise with proven leadership skills
- Oversees a limited number of engineers to support enterprise adoption and maturity; establish CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and site reliability
- Foster collaboration between development, operations, security, and business teams to meet regulatory and operational requirements of the insurance industry
- Drive adoption and optimization of DevOps practices for efficient, scalable software delivery in corporate insurance environment
- Focus on leveraging Microsoft development environments, GitHub, and Azure to streamline CI/CD pipelines and ensure seamless integration with SAP financial systems; extend to other platforms and core policy systems and custom developed applications
Requirements
- 7+ years in software development, IT operations, or DevOps, with 3+ years in a leadership role
- 2+ years in the insurance industry or a similarly regulated sector is preferred
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, and GitHub in enterprise environments
- Familiarity with SAP financial systems and their integration with DevOps workflows
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions; experience with Azure services
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Azure ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service)
- SAP integration patterns for financial workflows
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML)
- Certifications (preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or SAP-related certifications
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management
- Work environment: primarily office-based with hybrid/remote; may require travel; collaboration with global teams
- Deep understanding of DevOps principles and cloud ecosystems
