About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive the development, management, and delivery of data products that meet customer needs and advance Protective’s business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, data science, data governance, and platform engineering.
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping through deployment and ongoing support.
- Ensure that data products are scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
- Understand complex business challenges and lead the development of solutions that address them.
- Translate product vision into actionable requirements.
- Align execution teams and effectively communicate progress to stakeholders at all levels.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, data engineering, data governance, data science, or a related field, with at least 3 years specifically focused on data products or data-driven initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data technologies, integration, and architecture, including familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery), and data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Experience with BI Tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data analytics, including data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams.
- Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in advanced data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Experience with advanced data analytics techniques, including machine learning, predictive analytics, and data visualization.
- Experience implementing Medallion Architecture in cloud-based data platforms like Databricks.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Certifications in data management, product management, or related areas such as Certified Data Management Professional (CSMP)
