About the role

  • The Investment Operations Associate II provides investments information services to support the Investment Management business at Protective Life, collaborating with Operations and Strategy teams within the Middle Office.
  • Responsibilities: Trade Management—Support for securities and derivatives data management operations; Assist in the development, management, and maintenance of Investment related data used for internal management reporting including transactions, positions, performance, analytics, and limits; Perform regular deep dive data analysis to manage the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of investments data; Improve the quality control of all reference and analytical investments data; Trade settlement, Custodian and Middle Office communication, Trade Monitoring; KYC and AML knowledge, security regulations, compliance framework.
  • Reporting and Analysis—Responsible for securities and derivatives reporting and analysis operations; Reports include Transactions, Positions, Performance Measurement & Attribution, Scenario Analysis/Stress Testing, Counterparty Margin/Collateral Liquidity & Credit Analysis, Limits & Compliance; Participate in process gap analysis; Perform daily reconciliations and reporting across multiple platforms and product lines.
  • Systems / Data Management—Support the development of the Systems Management Framework; Liaise between Investments Front Office and IT; Identify and propose technology enhancements; Support development of new investment management derivatives & securities systems; Facilitate initiatives and lead projects; Systems administration tasks.
  • Other—Participate in special projects/initiatives of Investments Operations; Corporate-wide strategy initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or Accounting from an accredited college or university
  • Strong analytical, qualitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel with knowledge of advanced concepts such as macros, pivot tables, filtering
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to simultaneously work in multiple areas of the Investments Operations Team
  • Ability to think strategically – strong business skills
  • Ability to simplify and translate complex concepts into simple terms
