About the role
- Lead and manage a team of Claims and Team Specialists, ensuring high performance and engagement.
- Oversee day-to-day workforce management, including scheduling, workload balancing, and prioritization of claims.
- Ensure compliance with DBL, PFL, PFML regulations and other relevant state mandates.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for DBL , PFL, PFML claims and escalated issues.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance appraisals, and coaching sessions.
- Analyze KPIs and reporting to identify trends and inform action plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cross-training efforts.
- Support onboarding, training, and development plans for new and existing team members.
Requirements
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of DBL, PFL, and PFML claims processes and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to manage escalated issues and serve as a technical resource for the team.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience managing DBL, PFL, and PFML claims.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a claims or insurance operations environment.
