Provide technical editing, preparation, production, and issuance of Single-Shell Tank (SST) and Double-Shell Tank (DST) engineering reports for Tank and Pipeline Integrity (TAPI) supporting Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C).
Perform final editing for approximately 15 reports/presentations per year: finalize spelling/grammar, direct author interface, research references, layout, and formatting.
Create graphics for incorporation in reports and presentations as needed using Visio and Adobe Creative Suite; use ACAD where applicable.
Prepare reports on expedited schedules; may require editing after normal working hours and on weekends; deadlines communicated via email.
Prepare and submit submittals using the Hanford Master Submittal Register (MSR) and Incoming Letter of Transmittal; provide electronic, non-password-protected formats per procurement instructions.
Ensure deliverables meet acceptance criteria, applicable standards, and H2C/ORP editorial and document control requirements; review by qualified Technical Publications personnel.
Interface closely with engineers and report authors; attest in writing to the accuracy and completeness of final deliverables.
Support high-visibility deliverables for the Office of River Protection (ORP), Washington State Department of Ecology, and public release.
Work performed remotely at ProSidian’s place of business with HLAN access; role located in the Pacific Northwest, primarily Richland, WA.
Requirements
15 years of experience formatting and publishing documents, preferably for Department of Energy (DOE).
Working knowledge of applicable document preparation standards and procedures.
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), Visio, Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, Pro/Acrobat), Firefox, and ACAD.
Familiarity with Hanford Site/H2C document standards and procedures and H2C editorial standards.
Knowledge of U.S. Government Printing Office Style Manual, Chicago Manual of Style, and NRC Editorial Style Guide.
Familiarity with MSC-PRO-54603 (Identifying, Marking, and Protecting Official Use Only Information).
Compliance knowledge of TFC-BSM-AD-STD-02 (Editorial Standards for Technical Documents) and TFC-ENG-DESIGN-C-25 (Technical Document Control).
Experience performing technical editing/writing, layout, formatting, and final report production.
Ability to create graphics for reports and presentations using Visio and Adobe Creative Suite.
