Fleet & Safety Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Fleet & Safety Manager oversees workplace safety programs and manages the organization’s vehicle fleet to ensure compliance.
- This role supports daily operations by maintaining safety standards, coordinating training, completing site inspections, monitoring fleet performance, communicating with appropriate team members and vendors and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- Work with departments to implement industry best practices while maintaining compliance with all federal, state and industry regulations.
- They mentor employees and supervisors, enabling them to achieve a high level of proficiency and independence within the safety program.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across facilities and job sites.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond immediately to jobsite incidents and assist in emergency procedures.
- Conduct fact-gathering and root cause analysis for accidents, injuries, and near-misses.
- Organize safety stand-downs when necessary to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and conduct safety training programs for new hire orientation, OSHA requirements, annual refresher training, equipment training and certification and other applicable regulatory training requirements.
- Manage company SMS system.
- Maintain OSHA compliance documentation and support regulatory inspections.
- Promote a strong safety culture through communication, coaching, and employee engagement.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a safety and/or fleet related role.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 certification required or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to understand, communicate, and follow safety instructions in English (reasonable accommodations provided as per applicable laws).
- The position requires moderate travel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and handle high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and hazard recognition.
- First/Aid CPR Certification preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
