About the role

  • Provide technical leadership for the piping discipline: define scope, prioritize activities, and assign tasks to engineers and designers while monitoring productivity, deadlines, and technical quality of deliverables.
  • Develop, review, and approve engineering documents, including Piping Design Basis, P&IDs, plot plans and 3D layouts, line lists, valve lists and MTOs, material specifications, piping classes, and supports.
  • Ensure technical and regulatory compliance (ASME B31, API, ISO, NORSOK, client standards and classification society requirements).
  • Manage technical interfaces with disciplines such as structural, naval, rotating equipment, electrical, and instrumentation.
  • Review and follow up on 3D piping models.
  • Analyze and approve piping stress studies, pipe supports, and associated technical solutions, ensuring the structural and operational integrity of systems.
  • Serve as the technical focal point for the client, leading technical meetings and clarifying technical queries.
  • Provide technical support for onshore and offshore activities, including visits to shipyards or vessels.
  • Promote continuous improvement and contribute to the development of internal standards.
  • Monitor schedules and technical milestones, identify risks, propose solutions, and support project management in decision-making.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Naval or similar).
  • Advanced or fluent English, essential for technical communication and reporting.
  • Strong experience in piping engineering for engineering projects, offshore, FPSO, or naval environments.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams in multidisciplinary organizations.
  • Availability to travel and for occasional offshore assignments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CAD/3D software (PDMS, SmartPlant/AVEVA, AutoCAD Plant3D, etc.) and piping analysis tools.
  • Strong focus on quality, organization, and meeting deadlines.
