About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, launch, and iterate the React Native companion app through App Store and Google Play releases
Own the mobile app from architecture and instrumentation through production release
Collaborate with web application, API, and design teams to build features for web and mobile
Ship full-stack features across accessible React UIs, type-safe APIs, GraphQL, and multiple data stores
Evaluate architectural trade-offs and communicate engineering decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Maintain accountability for shipped software, including instrumentation, incident handling, and post-incident analysis
Improve team performance through code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
Improve testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling
Support teams across the organization and work cross-functionally across multiple product lines
Establish patterns and reviews that improve mobile and full-stack engineering quality

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of full-stack production experience
Experience with React, Node.js, TypeScript, modern cloud-native development, CI/CD, observability, and operating production systems
Native mobile experience with iOS or Android alongside React Native
Experience building and shipping mobile apps to the App Store and Google Play
Ability to navigate app review, release, and post-launch operational issues
Strong system-design skills focused on reliability, scalability, failure modes, and maintainability
Ability to review AI-generated code using Claude Code or Copilot and use these tools to expedite workflow
Ability to identify problems, implement solutions, and integrate AI solutions
Experience setting technical direction and mentoring engineers on collaborative, asynchronous, distributed teams
Judgment regarding technical debt and delivery priorities
Experience building accessible web applications to WCAG 2.1 AA
Familiarity with oRPC/tRPC, Pulumi, and Better Auth preferred
Experience in accessibility-critical or heavily regulated environments advantageous
Experience tuning data access across relational, NoSQL, and search systems advantageous
Must be legally authorized to work in the US; sponsorship is unavailable
