About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct analyses of insurance and investment activities to inform executive decision-making and governance bodies
  • Develop, prepare and monitor budgets, financial forecasts and variance analyses to support organizational performance
  • Produce profitability analyses, financial scenarios and recommendations to support strategic projects and growth initiatives
  • Prepare and write reports tracking the value creation of projects and organizational investments
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of the investment portfolio and make optimization recommendations when required
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports for management and governance bodies
  • Develop, produce and refine performance indicators and dashboards that enable proactive management of organizational performance
  • Monitor the financial performance of the organization’s various divisions and explain key variances
  • Act as a business partner to managers by supporting them in analyzing results and making decisions
  • Recommend and implement improvements to processes, analytical tools and the quality of financial data

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (major in Finance or Accounting), Actuarial Science or another relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Hold a CPA, CFA or ACIA designation (as applicable)
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance (valuable asset)
  • Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel (advanced level)
  • Knowledge of Power BI (asset)
  • Knowledge of Workday (asset)
  • Ability to transform complex data into clear, action-oriented recommendations
  • Strong analytical, synthesis and problem-solving skills
  • Recognized for initiative, intellectual curiosity and the ability to generate innovative, value-creating ideas
  • Build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to act as a business partner to managers
  • Demonstrate strong rigor, autonomy and a well-developed sense of organization
  • Good command of French and an intermediate level of English, both spoken and written
