About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage files related to litigated insurance claims
- Draft legal documents and opinions
- Negotiate settlements
- Obtain statutory declarations from insured parties or third parties
- Process access-to-information requests related to claims files
- Conduct case law and doctrinal/legal research to support legal arguments
- Provide support to various department stakeholders
- Provide recommendations to mutual insurance companies
- Participate in the preparation of legal training sessions and conferences for mutual insurance companies
- Perform any other related duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent)
- Member of the Quebec Bar
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in civil law and litigation
- Experience in insurance law (an asset)
