Report directly to the Controller and assist with crucial accounting activities including month-end close, ASC 606 revenue recognition, AR, AP, payroll, and financial reporting.
Execute monthly and yearly close activities, including preparation and/or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial reporting package.
Perform comprehensive accounting activities across order to cash, payroll, accounts payable, and GL management processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
Research and apply technical accounting guidance on the treatment of transactions, particularly related to revenue recognition, expenses and capitalized software, and assist with related financial reporting requirements.
Prepare for and assist with annual financial audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Support cash flow and income statement forecasting through preparation of inputs and analysis.
Help maintain accounting policies, controls, and procedures by documenting processes and ensuring compliance with company standards.
Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and processes, and maintain compliance with financial policies and guidelines.
Support the research, implementation, and documentation of new and evolving accounting standards for company compliance.
Lead or participate in special projects such as system upgrades, process improvements, and new business initiatives; collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Excellent working knowledge of US GAAP
Proven Senior Accountant level experience within a SaaS environment, ideally in a Series B or larger startup
Proficiency in Google Sheets and financial software/platforms
Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
Ability to execute month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial reporting
Experience across order to cash, payroll, accounts payable, and GL management processes
Proven ability to perform with a high level of detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders
