About the role
- Report directly to the Controller and assist with crucial accounting activities including month-end close, ASC 606 revenue recognition, AR, AP, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Execute monthly and yearly close activities, including preparation and/or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial reporting package.
- Perform comprehensive accounting activities across order to cash, payroll, accounts payable, and GL management processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance on the treatment of transactions, particularly related to revenue recognition, expenses and capitalized software, and assist with related financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare for and assist with annual financial audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support cash flow and income statement forecasting through preparation of inputs and analysis.
- Help maintain accounting policies, controls, and procedures by documenting processes and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and processes, and maintain compliance with financial policies and guidelines.
- Support the research, implementation, and documentation of new and evolving accounting standards for company compliance.
- Lead or participate in special projects such as system upgrades, process improvements, and new business initiatives; collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Excellent working knowledge of US GAAP
- Proven Senior Accountant level experience within a SaaS environment, ideally in a Series B or larger startup
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and financial software/platforms
- Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
- Ability to execute month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial reporting
- Experience across order to cash, payroll, accounts payable, and GL management processes
- Proven ability to perform with a high level of detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders
- Must be a US person (US citizen or permanent resident) and reside in the United States; sponsorship not available
