About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage daily operations of the hospital inpatient or outpatient coding team
- Directly supervise team members and manage performance
- Promote accurate, efficient, and compliant coding practices
- Develop individual staff and team goals
- Identify process improvements
- Assist with development of action plans as opportunities are identified
Requirements
What you’ll need- Applicants must reside in the Eastern Standard Time Zone
- Associate degree in health information management or related field
- Hospital inpatient coding proficiency with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
- Knowledge of MS-DRG and APR-DRG reimbursement methodologies
- 1 year of inpatient or outpatient coding experience
- RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CCS, or CPC certification
- Bachelor’s degree in health information management or related field preferred
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, HIM coding, reimbursement, and EHR systems preferred
- Proficiency in report monitoring, data analysis, and identifying trends preferred
- 3 years of coding experience preferred
- 1 year of management experience preferred
- RHIA or RHIT certification preferred
