Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass internal coding test
  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding
  • 3 years of physician/professional complex surgical and E&M coding experience in a health care system or medical office setting
  • Complex surgical coding experience including OB/Gyn, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, Cardiothoracic, Urology, ENT, Plastic Surgery and General Surgery
  • CPC, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA certification required
  • Knowledge of the professional billing revenue cycle process preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Epic and other coding applications preferred
